Don’t be a tool

10 Days of Favourites #5: Brushes

Your make up is only as good as the tools you apply it with. That’s an expression right? I’m pretty sure someone important said it. Marilyn Monroe, or Ghandi, or someone. I’m positive.

Anyway, I don’t actually believe that, but not all brushes are created equal. For ages I used the Quo Brushes, which can be purchased at Shopper’s Drug Mart. They are not cheap, and they are not nice. The bristles are kind of prickly and they don’t hold their shape well.

For some time now, the beauty world has been abuzz about Real Techniques Brushes. They weren’t available in Canada for the longest time. Then one happy day I found them at London Drugs! They’re an absolute steal at about $20 for a kit of three or four. I grabbed the Travel Essentials Kit and a fluffy blush brush. Sold. These brushes are fantastic. Soft, easy to clean, and they hold their shape really well. You don’t have to spend a fortune to get yourself some great tools!

Have you tried Real Techniques?
